Fez Ujjainwala Constructive Bio CCO

Former Terray Therapeutics Chief Business Officer and Merck Business Development & Licensing leader joins to advance Constructive’s commercial strategy and biopharma partnerships

CAMBRIDGE, UK — 8 October 2026 — Constructive Bio today announced the appointment of Feroze (Fez) Ujjainwalla, PhD, as Chief Commercial Officer. Most recently, he served as Chief Business Officer at Terray Therapeutics, where he led the company’s global biopharma partnering strategy, including multi-target collaborations with Calico, Bristol Myers Squibb and Gilead Sciences.

Dr Ujjainwalla brings more than 30 years of experience spanning drug discovery and business development and licensing across large pharmaceutical and venture-backed biotechnology companies. His career includes senior scientific and business development leadership at Merck, followed by his tenure as Chief Business Officer at Terray Therapeutics, where his responsibilities spanned business development, alliance management and competitive intelligence.

At Merck, Dr Ujjainwalla progressed from Senior Research Chemist to Executive Director of Discovery Chemistry, leading and co-leading discovery programs across multiple therapeutic areas and contributing to eight development candidates, three of which completed Phase 2b clinical trials. He subsequently joined Merck’s Business Development & Licensing organization, where he led the search, evaluation and execution of external innovation collaborations and platform licenses, including technologies from PeptiDream, HitGen and a leading organoid technology partner.

At Terray, Dr Ujjainwalla designed and executed the company’s global biopharma partnering strategy, leading collaborations with Calico, Bristol Myers Squibb and Gilead Sciences, as well as a co-discovery and co-development collaboration with Odyssey Therapeutics focused on high-value “undruggable” biology. He also served as executive alliance lead for these partnerships, overseeing governance, milestone execution and partner relationships.

At Constructive, Dr Ujjainwalla will lead commercial strategy, partnering and licensing, working alongside Chief Business Officer Paul Wallace to build relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and bring Constructive’s platform to partners seeking new approaches to protein and peptide therapeutics. Based on the US East Coast, he will establish Constructive’s presence close to the heart of the US biopharma industry while supporting partnerships worldwide.

“Nature built life from twenty amino acids. We’re no longer bound by that limit when designing medicines,” said Ola Wlodek, CEO of Constructive Bio. “Constructive has built a remarkable technology platform around the myriad of new-to-nature peptide building blocks, opening access to chemistries beyond those available to conventional biology. Syn61 and BioForge let us produce proteins at large scale with chemistries evolution never reached, and that opens a new frontier for medicine. Fez has seen the industry from every vantage point, as a scientist, a pharma dealmaker and a biotech partnership builder. He’s the right person to bring this frontier to the partners who’ll help us explore it.”

“What attracted me to Constructive is the combination of fundamental science and a platform with a clear path to real-world application,” said Dr. Ujjainwalla. “Throughout my career, I’ve been interested in technologies that can expand what is possible in drug discovery and development. Constructive has developed a way to introduce non-canonical chemistry into complex proteins and peptides and to produce these molecules biologically. I’m excited to work with the team and with our partners to explore how that capability can address important challenges in therapeutic development.”

Dr Ujjainwalla earned his PhD in organic chemistry from Imperial College London and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Texas at Austin.
