CEO
Ola is the CEO of Constructive Bio. She holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Cambridge and executive MBA from Warwick Business School. Her scientific interests in genetic engineering of GC-rich microbes, unnatural products and peptide cyclisation led her to seek transformative applications of synthetic biology in the real world. Prior to joining Constructive Bio, she worked for various companies in the Cambridge biotech cluster, most recently as Chief Operating Officer at Reflection Therapeutics.
CSO & Founder
Jason is CSO of Constructive Bio. Work from his research group at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge provides a foundation for many of the approaches being pioneered and commercialised by Constructive. Jason has received numerous awards for his research including the EMBO Gold Medal and the Royal Society’s Francis Crick Prize. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and a Fellow of the Royal Society.
CFO
Solange is a finance executive with extensive Fortune 500 and startup experience, in the life sciences, biotech, and high-technology industries. She is the founder of Scale2Growth, a consulting firm offering part-time CFO capabilities that enable fast-growing emerging companies to scale up efficiently and effectively. Solange began her career at Hewlett-Packard where she held various escalating finance roles until rising to leadership role at HP’s spinoff Agilent Technologies, including Chief Financial Officer of the company’s Life Sciences Group and Chief Accounting Officer. She later became the CFO of Twist Bioscience. Solange is Board Director and Audit Committee Chair at Inari Agriculture, Lumicks B.V., and Olink Proteomics (NASDAQ: OLK). She holds a master’s degree in management from the HEC Paris School of Management.
CBO
Paul has been leading business development activities in both private and publicly listed companies for over 25 years. He has executed multiple partnership transactions with major pharma, regularly at the leading edge of deal trends. Successes include the blockbuster hepatitis C protease inhibitor Olysio®, which became the fastest-launched drug in the history of the industry. Prior to joining Constructive, Paul was CBO at Mission Therapeutics Ltd and EVP at Medivir AB where he helped guide company growth from a research-focused model to a profitable, integrated company with commercial sales. Paul had an earlier career in pharmaceutical research and carried out his PhD and post-doctoral studies in biochemistry at the University of Cambridge. He currently serves as the non-executive chairman of Semarion Ltd and Outsee Ltd, both Cambridge-based life science companies.
Chief Legal Officer
Linda is a legal executive who brings nearly 30 years of experience to Constructive Bio. Her experience encompasses working with all stages of companies, from startups to Fortune 500 corporations. She has worked for over a decade in the life sciences industry, most recently driving the 2021 public listing of Olink Proteomics (NASDAQ: OLK), and subsequent sale of such to Thermo Fisher for $3.2 Billion.
Linda is a seasoned commercial partner who has negotiated multi-million dollar deals with all the top 20 pharmaceutical companies, as well as other strategic transactions. She is solution oriented, striving to find a path to achieve business goals. Linda will be instrumental in preparing Constructive Bio for its next phase of growth and commercialisation.
Linda received her Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
VP of Corporate Development & Strategy
Helena supports Ola and the leadership team in growing a global synthetic biology leader. As VP of Corporate Development & Strategy, Helena works across strategy, operations and corporate governance to build a strong team of genome writing pioneers and enable them to succeed. Before joining Constructive, Helena completed her DPhil in Genetics and Synthetic Biology at the University of Oxford, where she focused on systematic genetic dissection of the alpha-globin gene cluster. She then carried out a stint as a Management Consultant in Oliver Wyman’s London office, working across a range of strategy, modelling and risk projects and most recently helped guide London-based biotechnology start-up Bactobio through two fundraises and six successful Innovate UK applications totalling £11 million as their Head of Business Development. Helena has an MSci/BA in Natural Sciences (Biochemistry) from the University of Cambridge. Outside of work, Helena is an avid adventurer, be that hiking, cycling or scuba diving.
VP of Research & Development
Daniel is VP of R&D at Constructive Bio. After completing his BSc in Biotechnology at University College London, he obtained his PhD at Prof. Chin’s lab at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, where he developed the foundational technologies for genome synthesis and genetic code reprogramming.
Executive VP of Protein Engineering
Peter is an experienced scientific leader with a 15-year track record in discovery and engineering of therapeutic proteins, delivering numerous molecules into the clinic. As a founder of IONTAS ltd, and later as CTO of FairJourney Biologics, he led the development and commercialisation of several technology platforms.
At Constructive Bio, Peter leads the Therapeutics Discovery team and helps navigate the vast possibility space of genetic code expansion to reach defined exemplars of the impact it can have in biotherapeutics.
Head of Pipeline & Commercialisation Strategy
Dr Saleha Patel joined our expanding Therapeutic Discovery team in early 2025 bringing over a decade of experience from large pharma. In her previous role within the Emerging Innovations Unit at AstraZeneca she led indication discovery and expansion activities for pipeline assets, leveraging cutting-edge AI and multi-omics approaches to generate novel disease hypotheses. Her role also involved catalysing new and transformative areas of science and technology and supporting the global early-stage innovation ecosystem.
Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Saleha carried out her PhD and postdoctoral studies in biochemistry and structural biology at the University of Leicester in partnership with UCB Pharma.
She currently holds Board and external leadership positions in a number of organisation including ELRIG UK, Nature Scientific Reports, The Sutton Trust and is an honorary lecturer at Queen Mary University of London.

Kerri started her career in biotechnology at Illumina, followed by Kymab and most-recently VaxEquity. Kajetan is Head of Operations & Facilities at Constructive Bio, overseeing the seamless operation of technical facilities, procurement, and ensuring optimal health and safety protocols. With a wealth of experience in establishing, managing, and optimizing biomedical facilities, Kajetan brings valuable expertise to the team. Holding a BSc in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from Manchester Metropolitan University, Kajetan’s educational background further reinforces their strong foundation in the field. His meticulous approach and dedication ensure that Constructive Bio operates at the forefront of scientific excellence and operational efficiency.
Head of Bioinformatics
At Constructive, Faye is responsible for the informatics side of genome design and synthesis. Working closely with the experimental genome synthesis and strain improvement teams, she is developing computational approaches to accelerate the optimisation of genome and strain design. Before joining Constructive, Faye had various roles across academia and industry; after a PhD on the microbiota of malaria vector mosquitoes at Imperial College London, she diversified into helminth genomics at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, before moving into the biotech world as a Senior Bioinformatician at Mogrify. In her free time she enjoys running, cycling and the great outdoors.
HR Director
Rosie is an experienced Senior HR Leader and CIPD Level 7 qualified professional with a well‑rounded background across the life sciences sector, having held senior roles at organisations including F‑star Therapeutics, Resolian, and the Babraham Institute, alongside experience in other fast‑growth industries.
As HR Director, she is leading the development and delivery of the People strategy in close partnership with the leadership team, supporting the company’s scientific and commercial ambitions. Rosie is shaping organisational design, workforce planning, leadership capability, and culture, building scalable, inclusive people practices that will support the future success of Constructive Bio.

Fine Structure Ventures
Senior Scientist
Alex studied and obtained his PhD in Physical-Organic Chemistry in Marburg, Germany. Getting intrigued by the wonderful world of proteins, he moved to a postdoctoral position at Cardiff University to create artificial enzymes with new-to-nature reactivity, and to use genetic code expansion to study E2 enzymes and create organelle-targeting therapeutics. Before joining Constructive Bio, he was a Protein Scientist at Agenus and AstraZeneca producing antibody-based therapeutics and recombinant proteins. When not working on biotherapeutics, Alex tries growing vegetables or can be found at music venues across the country.
Lead Scientist
Andre holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo, followed by post-doctoral training at University College London, the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), and the Francis Crick Institute.
Andre is an experienced Synthetic Biology Scientist with expertise in both academic and industrial settings. He previously worked at the biotech start-up Bactobio, where he performed genetic engineering on non-model microorganisms and used CRISPR techniques to activate biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs). At the Francis Crick Institute, he specialised in protein engineering and directed evolution, focusing on aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases and enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of non-canonical amino acids.
Andre is currently a Lead Scientist of the Engineered Translation team, developing novel enzymes for non-canonical amino acids incorporation. Outside of the lab, Andre enjoys cooking and hiking.
Bioprocess Research Associate
As part of the Bioprocess Team at Constructive Bio, Arina is working on developing robust and scalable fed-batch fermentation processes. Prior to joining Constructive Bio, Arina worked as a Fermentation Engineer at Ginkgo Bioworks, where she was optimizing fermentation processes at ambr250 scale for antibiotic production. Having also worked at Colorifix and Demetrix (California-based startup), she gained experience working with various microorganisms and running multiple scale bench-top fermentors. Arina holds a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.
Scientist
Atanas gained his MSc at The University of Edinburgh. He brings a cumulative six years of industrial experience from across established biotech and startup companies, where he focused on display technologies, protein engineering and prototyping. At Constructive Biology, Nas is interested in developing novel tools for expanding the chemical space available to extant biology and deploying those tools for biomedicine and biocatalysis. In his spare time Nas enjoys, sports, music venues and the outdoors. He also loves artisan coffee.
Bioprocess Senior Scientist
Bairav is a downstream bioprocess scientist with ten years of specialised experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, focusing on monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins. His expertise encompasses the entire process development, from purification strategy through to formulation and scale-up activities. His process knowledge with proteins expressed from mammalian and microbial will be an advantage for Constructive Bio to develop an industrial feasible process for a novel molecule from proprietary platform.
Outside of science, Bairav enjoys playing cricket and collecting ancient coins.
Senior Scientist
Bea is setting up the Mammalian Cell Culture Lab at Constructive Bio. She brings extensive expertise in HEK and CHO cell culture and protein expression. Her career spans academic research at the University of Cambridge, including work on Neurodegenerative Diseases, to biotech and pharma Antibody Discovery at Kymab and Sanofi. Her PRINCE2 certification underscores her ability to foster organised, collaborative environments. Bea is aiming to create top-notch cell culture capabilities to support Constructive’s work in engineering biology.

Senior Automation Scientist
Camillo is our Senior Automation Scientist. He is building Constructive Bio’s automation infrastructure, from accelerating core workflows to developing our intelligent experiments.
After completing his BSc in Biomedicine and Molecular Biolgy at UCL, he obtained a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge where he developed foundational technologies for high-throughput single cell assays for genetical engineering applications.
Camillo is a core developer of the open-source PyLabRobot project and an avid climber.
Bioinformatician
Chris is interested in developing computational pipelines and using bioinformatics to help solve novel biological challenges. He brings experience in bioinformatics data analysis and software development from working in the human genomics field and earned his MSc studying the Microbiome at King’s College London.
Outside of work Chris enjoys football, tennis and travelling.
Lab Manager
Craig is a highly accomplished Laboratory Operations Manager with over a decade of experience leading multidisciplinary teams in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. With a strong track record in scaling operations, driving efficiency, and ensuring regulatory compliance, Craig has successfully overseen laboratory expansions, facility management, procurement optimisation, and health & safety initiatives, while also leading sustainability efforts, earning a My Green Lab certification at the highest grade.
Senior Bioinformatician
Passionate about facilitating biological research with computational methods, Dionysis gained extensive experience in analysing human sequence data for cancer biomarker discovery studying for his MSc Bioinformatics at Queen Mary University of London and working on rare disease variant discovery at St. George’s, University of London. Prior to joining Constructive in early 2024, he played an integral role in maintaining the “WormBase ParaSite” resource for parasitic worm genomes at the EMBL European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI). When not coding, Dionysis enjoys basketball, music events, and traveling.
Business Analyst
Dom is driven by the challenge of translating cutting-edge research into real-world impact. He brings experience in business development and strategy across early-stage biotech, and earned his MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise at the University of Cambridge. Outside of work, Dom likes attending live comedy nights, cycling and travelling.

Before joining Constructive Bio in April 2025, Emily attended the University of Bristol, achieving a DipHE in Cellular and Molecular Medicine, and worked part time as a pharmacy assistant at Addenbrookes Hospital.
Executive Assistant to the CSO
Emma is Executive Assistant to the Chief Scientific Officer, Jason Chin. She joined Constructive Bio in August 2022 with over 24 years’ experience in administration. Emma worked with Jason at the Centre for Chemical and Synthetic Biology at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology for 14 years and is now supporting him in Oxford, at EIT Generative Biology Institute, where Jason is Executive Director.
Research Associate
Working in our Therapeutic Discovery team at Constructive Bio, Erandi is an expert in protein expression and engineering with a focus on E. coli-based systems to optimise vectors and processes which facilitate maximum protein production and innovative projects in genome engineering.
Erandi holds a Master’s in Applied Bioscience from the Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge and brings industry experience in protein expression skills across E. coli, Pichia, and mammalian cell platforms, combined with various protein purification chromatography techniques using AKTA systems to our team.
When not producing proteins, Erandi enjoys baking, adapting various cuisines into Sri Lankan versions, learning Buddhism, reading, writing and pilates.
Scientist
As part of the translation engineering team, Esther is involved in the design, production and optimisation of programmable biomolecules with the use of non-canonical amino acids. Her scientific career began as a Biotechnology student in Spain, followed by a PhD degree in Molecular Biomedicine at the University of Warwick. When not in the lab, Eshter’s always up for a hike, a board game session or reading a book.
Commercial Development & Strategy Manager
Freddie combines a background in biochemistry with a unique blend of experience in the culinary and wine industries. As the Commercial Development and Strategy Manager at Constructive Bio, he plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s strategic initiatives and business development efforts.
Freddie’s path to science was unique, starting as a chef and then moving into the wine industry, where he discovered a deep-rooted passion for microbes and fermentation. This fascination led him back to academia, culminating in a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. At Cambridge, he immersed himself in the study of GC-rich organisms, biosynthetic assembly lines, and the forefront of synthetic biology.
Outside work, Freddie maintains a passion for food and wine, often spending time in his allotment, reflecting his enduring interests. He’s an avid outdoor enthusiast, regularly engaging in trail running, tennis, and cricket.
Scientist
Gabrielle obtained her PhD from the University of Bordeaux, where she developed methodologies and gained expertise on engineering and cloning bacterial genomes (Mycoplasma species and Bacillus subtilis strains) in the budding yeast S. cerevisiae.
Her mission at Constructive Bio is to build an accelerated pipeline for large-scale DNA synthesis.
In her free time, Gabrielle is keen on practicing yoga, enjoying good moments with family and friends and long walks along the seafront.
Research Associate
Georgia has over seven years of experience in biotechnology, with a scientific focus on antibody discovery and the genetic engineering of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) for human antibody platforms. She has also supported multiple startups by streamlining laboratory workflows and providing scientific and organisational guidance.
At Constructive Bio, Georgia applies her skills in translational engineering, combining molecular biology, genetic engineering, and automation systems to advance cutting-edge projects.
Outside of work, she enjoys salsa dancing, hiking, and cooking.
HR Administrator
Grace is part of Constructive’s HR Team and works as the HR Administrator. Grace’s BioTech career started in Freeline Therapeutics, before then moving to Mestag Therapeutics in it’s early start up stage. Currently studying for her CIPD Level 3 qualification in People Practice, Grace is passionate about developing her skills and is looks forward to apply her growing knowledge to support the team and contribute to a positive people experience at Constructive.
Research Associate
Gianluca joined the protein engineering team in 2025 and is supporting tRNA display development. He earned his Undergraduate Degree at the University of Bristol in Biochemistry with Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. During his MScR he characterised a library of redox tuned Heme binding proteins, then computationally designed and characterised a series of multi-Heme nanowires. Outside of work, he likes to play Indoor and Beach Volleyball competitively. He also enjoy camping and automobile mechanics.
Research Associate
Driven by the potential of our technology platforms to shape more sustainable bioindustries, Jamie joined us as a Laboratory Technician specialising in molecular biology techniques. Now a Research Associate in the Synthetic Genomics team, she applies her expertise in whole-genome recoding and de novo genome assembly. Jamie holds an integrated Master’s degree (MBiolSci) in Biochemistry and Genetics from the University of Sheffield. Outside the lab, she is enthusiastic about bouldering, movies, and film photography.
Accounting Clerk
Joanna joined Constructive as an Accounting Clerk in February 2025 to support the expanding in house finance department.
Holding a certificate from The Association of Accounting Technicians and a bachelor’s degree in English Philology from the University of Wroclaw in Poland, she brings over 10-year experience working within a finance environment across a variety of different industries.
Research Associate
As part of the Engineered Translation team at Constructive Bio, Karen will help advance our pipeline by conducting clone characterisations and supporting downstream translational machinery engineering.
She has a background in mammalian synthetic biology, earning her BSc from the University of Edinburgh and an MRes in Systems and Synthetic Biology from Imperial College London.
Outside the lab, Karen is a passionate volleyball player.
Office Administrator
Kate joined the company in 2022 as Office Administrator within the Operations Team and is responsible for the smooth running of the office systems and supports projects across HR, IT and Finance. Kate has over 20 years’ experience working in project administration roles within the creative communication industry. Outside of work Kate’s passions are gardening and live music.
Scientist
Lakshmi is a Scientist at Constructive Bio. She holds an MSc. in Plant Genetics & Crop Improvement from the John Innes Centre, University of East Anglia. Prior to joining us as a Associate Scientist in 2022, Lakshmi was engaged in dissecting the genetic architecture of native traits, such as disease resistance and crop yield at BASF Ghent (formerly Bayer Crop Science). Her deep-rooted passion for developing innovative technologies and a recognition of the significant potential of synthetic biology to revolutionize multiple applications from therapeutics to biomaterials, were the driving factors behind her decision to join the team at Constructive Bio. Outside work, she is a trained South Indian classical singer, an avid reader, a traveller, an adrenalin junkie and loves to try out new things.
Scientist
Leon is a Research Associate in the Engineered Translation team and has experience in expressing, purifying and characterising recombinant proteins. Before joining Constructive Bio, Leon was developing and optimising downstream processing workflows in the precision fermentation industry. He has also completed an MRes in Molecular Plant and Microbial Sciences at Imperial College London where he investigated the structure and function of photosynthetic proteins. Outside of work, Leon enjoys swimming, bouldering and trying new cuisines.
Legal & Governance Assistant
Lisa is Legal and Governance Assistant at Constructive Bio, with experience across law, education and executive support. She trained and practised as a solicitor in London, where she became a partner, and now works in a non‑practising capacity. She previously worked at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, supporting the President and helping deliver the Enterprising Women programme for early-stage entrepreneurs. Lisa enjoys working where governance, people and purpose intersect and values collaborative, mission-driven teams. Outside work, she enjoys family time and walking her Labrador, Daisy.
Principal Scientist
Markus gained his PhD at Würzburg University and continued academia as a postdoctoral fellow and scientist. He brings six years of industrial experience within a start-up company pioneering white biotechnology creating cell factories for oligosaccharide production. At Constructive Biology, Markus is combining his academic enthusiasm in genetic code expansion with his knowledge to create robust strains ready for scale up and production. In his free time, Markus is a passionate photographer, likes music and hiking.
Lead Scientist
Matous obtained his PhD at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry in Prague, Czech Republic, where he was developing chemical biology tools for nucleic acids. After a short postdoctoral stay in the Laboratory of Tumour Suppressors at the same institute, he joined the laboratory of Ben Davis at the University of Oxford and the Rosalind Franklin Institute, where he worked on post-translational protein modifications.
As a Lead Scientist with the Engineered Translation team, Matous focus is to expand the chemical space of biomolecules.
Outside the lab, you can find him behind the camera, at the piano, or in the garden.
Research Associate
Mike is a Research Associate in the Synthetic Genomics team at Constructive Bio, where he collaborates closely with the bioinformatics team to generate data that drive the company’s DNA design initiatives.
Prior to joining Constructive Bio, Mike worked as a lab technician at Imperial College London, where he supported research on chromatin remodelling complexes within the Section of Structural and Synthetic Biology. Mike holds a BSc in Structural & Molecular Biology and a MRes in Bioinformatics.
Outside of his professional work, Mike is an avid cook, a passionate explorer of ancient history, and a motorsport enthusiast..
Lead Scientist
As a Lead Scientist with the Therapeutics Discovery Team, Ed focuses on protein engineering, expression and purification.
Prior joining Constructive Bio, Ed spent six years at Charles River Labs working in the Structural Biology team, taking projects from gene to structure to assist early-stage drug discovery. Ed obtained PhD and MSc at Cardiff University focusing on understanding photochemical activation of LOV domain proteins and in the study of terpene cyclase catalysis. Ed enjoys gardening, spending time in nature and cooking.
Research Associate
Mona has joined Constructive Bio’s Engineered Translation team, bringing her passion for genome manipulation and protein engineering. With a BSc in Genetics from The University of Manchester, she has a strong background in CRISPR/Cas9 and has worked on developing real-time PCR diagnostic kits. She’s excited to further her knowledge and contribute to the innovative work at Constructive Bio.
Outside of science, Mona loves trying new activities, exploring new restaurants, and dancing.
Project Manager
Natalie is a trained biomedical scientist with lab experience in both academia and industry joined Constructive as Project Manager in May 2025 to manage and contribute to multiple projects by driving and tracking progress and budgets, as well as maintaining relationships with external collaborators.
During her time at F-star Natalie progressed through scientific roles into project management supporting F-star’s lead first-in-human clinical project and managing their lead pre-clinical project through IND enabling studies. Natalie then gained big pharma experience at AstraZeneca as Biosampling Project Leader contributing to their global clinical studies before moving back into biotech R&D as Early-stage Programme and Alliance Manager at Autifony Therapeutics.
Outside of work Natalie enjoys spending time with her family, visiting her home country Finland and unwinding through nature walks and yoga.
Senior Bioinformatics Software Engineer
Passionate about turning biological data into actionable insights, Nourdine brings a diverse background in cancer research, sequencing, and computational biology to Constructive Bio. He completed a PhD and MSc focused on image analysis in the context of cancer research, before expanding into sequencing technologies during his postdoctoral work.
At the Francis Crick Institute, he gained broad experience analysing a variety of biological datasets across multiple modalities. Moving into the biotech world, he first joined Pear Bio to support drug discovery efforts through data engineering and analysis, then transitioned to Constructive Bio. Here, he helps process and analyse in-house sequencing data, and contribute to the development of our software codebase and cloud infrastructure.
Bioprocess Scientist
Özge holds dual MSc degrees in Bioengineering and Pharmaceutical Sciences, with a strong focus on bioprocess development and biopharmaceutical technologies. She is currently a Bioprocess Scientist at Constructive Bio, where she works on microbial fermentation and recombinant protein production, contributing across the full bioprocess workflow from development to scale-up. Her experience spans upstream and downstream process optimisation, high-throughput screening, and data-driven experimental design using DoE approaches. Prior to this, she spent several years at Johnson Matthey developing and scaling bioprocesses and supporting technology transfer to manufacturing. Özge is particularly interested in building robust, scalable bioprocesses and translating innovative biology into practical, industrial solutions.
Machine Learning Scientist
As a member of the Informatics team, PA develops AI‐driven tools for genome design.
During his PhD, he gained expertise in genetic sequence modelling by building machine‐learning models to predict gene regulation. He then brought this skill set to industry at Inceptive, where he developed generative models for mRNA optimization as part of an integrated lab‐in‐the‐loop system combining computational design with experimental validation.
Senior Scientist
Richard obtained a PhD at the University of Bristol focusing on de novo enzyme engineering and biocatalysis. After his PhD, he spent an additional four years at the University of Bristol developing novel biologics to treat snake envenomation in sub-Saharan Africa. Richard is a member of Constructive’s Engineered Translation team and is working on ways to enhance uptake of ncAAs into the cell. Outside of the lab he enjoys walking, natural history and playing snooker.
Head of Bioprocessing
Rob holds a PhD in microbial physiology from the University of Sheffield, with postdoc experience at Durham & Bath. Since moving into the Biotech industry his experience has encompassed the entire Bioprocess workflow; being a DSP scientist at Lonza, product discovery & fermentation Lead for enzyme manufacturer Biocatalysts & recombinant peptide start-up Zentraxa. Rob has most recently spent 5 years leading the scale-up & manufacture of Johnson Matthey’s enzyme portfolio. Outside the lab Rob enjoys thinking about Romans whilst finding other old ruins & attempting to play guitar in his band.
Bioprocess Scientist
Talita is a Bioprocess Scientist at Constructive Bio with a PhD and MSc in Chemical Engineering. She has extensive experience in microbial fermentation, working across batch and fed-batch processes from bench-scale high-throughput systems to 30 L bioreactors. Her experience focuses on process optimisation and scale-up, using Design of Experiments and data analysis to improve performance and robustness. Prior to joining Constructive Bio, she spent three years at Colorifix optimising fermentation processes for microbial pigment production. Talita has a strong interest in sustainable bioprocessing and developing scalable and efficient biotechnological solutions.
Lead Scientist – Protein Expression
Thomas studied biochemistry at Liverpool John Moore’s University before moving to Cambridge for his doctoral studies at the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit, investigating metazoan F-ATP synthases. After, Thomas worked for a variety of biotechnology companies including Charles River Laboratories and Bicycle Therapeutics, specialising in the production of recombinant proteins. When not at work, he likes to bake and read science fiction.
Senior Scientist
Tomás is part of Constructive’s genome synthesis team, spearheading our phage engineering projects. His scientific journey began in Chile, where he delved into Bioengineering and Microbiology and dedicated his efforts to antimicrobial resistance research, with a specific emphasis on ESKAPE pathogens. Later, Tomás joined CCB, a biotech startup, directing a project focussed on biopharmaceutical formulations for vaccine development.
Moving to pursue a PhD at the University of Cambridge, his research centered on phage receptor engineering and host range enhancement. An opportunity to work alongside the Chin Lab assessing the phage resistance of synthetic E. coli strains during his time at Cambridge further ignited his enthusiasm for genome synthesis.
Beyond the lab, Tomás loves outdoor sports, especially trekking, mountaineering, and rowing. And when it’s time to unwind, he’s always up for a game of Dungeons and Dragons.
Finance Manager
Tracy joined as Finance Manager in January 2025 to support the company’s financial management and control, helping to maintain its financial stability throughout different stages of business development. Tracy is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds an MSc in Professional Accountancy from the University of London.
Before joining Constructive Bio, Tracy built a diverse career across multiple industries, working with global organisations such as Cosworth Group, Sage, Sanofi, and ABB. Her extensive experience spans commercial finance, compliance reporting, and strategic financial planning, making her a valued member to the team.
Outside of work, Tracy enjoys spending time with her family and unwinding through yoga and jogging.
Principal Scientist
Vignesh gained his MSc in Genetics from the University of Sussex and brings over 18 years of experience in antibody discovery across large pharma and biotech. He has led programs from early research through IND and built a target-agnostic discovery platform integrating phage display, CRISPR, and functional assays. At Constructive Bio, he is leading the development of display technologies to harness non-canonical amino acids and expand the biologics design space. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his young family, traveling, and cooking.
Research Technician
Zad joined us as a Lab Tech in 2024 after qualifying from Liverpool John Moores University where he studied Forensic Science. Keen to explore DNA synthesising and sequencing further, Zad now directly supports the research team as Research Technician. Outside of work, he is passionate about all things football having previously worked in and around Europe in various roles with football teams.
